PEM Xray teaching - see the calendar to conform dates but on the first Wednesday of each month, 2-2.30pm in the Level 2 Radiology Seminar room, we discuss the images from interesting and instructive cases that we've seen in the Children's ED over the past month. All cases, from puzzling minor trauma to critically unwell children are reviewed with the expert help of the hospital's Paediatric Radiology team
Learning based on real-life scenarios in Paediatric Trauma and Critical care...
These sessions are ad hoc depending on the state of the department but we usually hold 3 sessions a month. The sessions are aimed not only at learning to manage particular presentations but also to improve teamwork and team leadership skills. We also run a paediatric trauma sim for the hospital paediatric trauma team every 2-3 months.

PEM Teaching aimed for experienced EM Clinicians...
A wide range of teaching is delivered at the weekly middle grade PEM teaching session three times a month at 11am on Wednesdays (see calendar), which aims to cover the paediatric curriculum for EM trainees. These sessions are delivered mainly by outside specialties, e.g. paediatric surgery. See the calendar for what's on.
Paediatric Emergency Medicine Journal Club meets once every 2 months where both trainees and consultants present new research relevant to the care of children in the Emergency Department. See calendar for the next meetings dates.
