About i3em

Teaching Excellence in Emergency Medicine

Welcome  to the home of the i3 Emergency Medicine CPD days. These regular days rotate between illness, injury and infant (paediatric) themes - i3

Learn from the Experts

Consultant-led multi-modal CPD day delivering high-quality teaching on core topics in Emergency Medicine

Keep up with the latest developments

These  CPD days have been running in Oxford since 2014 and offer a  convenient  (and currently free) way of staying up to date in Emergency  Medicine

All of the days are at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Headington, Oxford.   Each day has a similar format though the order will vary:

  • 1-2 Keynote presentations from subject matter experts, the  focus will always be on pragmatic knowledge, applicable to ED practice.
  • Critical Appraisal of a relevant EM publication
  • 1-2 OSCE style seminars - these are totally formative and enable revision of less commonly performed assessments.
  • Clinical skill - this could be anything relevant to EM practice such  as plaster application, chest drain insertion, IO placement, slit lamp  examination, Emergency ultrasound.
  • Networking and open forum - an opportunity to discuss and share experiences, challenges and successes.
